The Chrysler TC by Maserati was a two-seat, two-door convertible developed jointly by Chrysler and Maserati and introduced at the 1986 Los Angeles Auto Show as a grand tourer on a modified second-generation K platform. After two years of development delays it reached buyers in late 1988, and 7,300 units, the minimum required by the contract, were built in Milan, Italy, through 1990, all cars sold as 1991 models having been made in 1990. The 1989 car used a detuned 160 horsepower turbocharged 2.2 litre four-cylinder with a three-speed automatic, and a Mitsubishi 3.0 litre V6 with a four-speed automatic replaced it for 1990 and 1991.
