The only major change for 1997 was that on the base LX model the 3.3 liter V6 was dropped as the standard engine. All of the first generation 3.5 liter engines were rated at 214 horsepower, with 89 octane fuel required. The 1997 Concorde was the last of the first generation, which had been introduced as a 1993 model, and the redesigned second generation followed for 1998. It was the fifth model year of the first generation.
