General Motors redesigned the Tahoe and Yukon on the new GMT900 platform for the 2007 model year, with the short wheelbase Tahoe and its police counterpart beginning production at Arlington Assembly on December 1, 2005 and the short wheelbase Yukon in early 2006. For 2007 the Yukon and Tahoe received different front fascias, hood and tail lights, and the Tahoe and Suburban 1LS became the base model with the premium LTZ as the upper trim.
