For the 1995 model year the Monte Carlo was revived, replacing the two door Lumina, which was renamed Monte Carlo. It took its design from a namesake 1992 concept car, and was again a counterpart of the Buick Regal, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and Pontiac Grand Prix coupes. In its revival the Monte Carlo was exclusively a coupe, unlike its sister models, and it returned to represent Chevrolet in stock car racing from 1995.
