1972 Chevrolet Malibu

Automobiles

Only new grilles highlighted the 1972 Malibu and other Chevelles, and all body styles were carried over from 1971. It was the final year for hardtops and convertibles, because the redesigned Chevelles originally planned for 1972 but delayed until 1973 would have Colonnade styling with side pillars and frameless door windows. The 1972 Chevelle could also be ordered with the police package, RPO code 9C1, which later became the standard code for Chevrolet police packages.
