For 2011 the 3.0 liter V6 engine received flex fuel capability. The second generation Equinox was assembled in three plants, Ingersoll and Oshawa in Ontario and Spring Hill, Tennessee, and the 2.4 liter Ecotec four, produced in Tonawanda, New York and Spring Hill, was the standard engine. Marketing of the Chevrolet Equinox in Mexico, resumed in late November 2009, ceased after the 2011 model year.
