Production of the C5 ended on July 2, 2004, which made it the last generation of Corvette, and with the Lotus Esprit the last car of any kind to use pop up headlamps. The 2004 model year offered a 24 Hours of Le Mans Commemorative Edition on all three models, celebrating the C5-R one two finish, and a Z06 Commemorative Edition with a carbon fiber hood. In 2004 a total of 2,025 Commemorative Edition Z06 cars were built, 325 of them shipped overseas, and the C5-R won its class at Le Mans again.
