The Corsica and Beretta were the second best selling passenger cars in America in calendar year 1988, right behind the Ford Escort. The Corsica was a front drive compact sedan on the L platform, produced at Wilmington Assembly in Delaware and Linden Assembly in New Jersey beside the Beretta coupe, and sold in Canada as the Pontiac Tempest from 1987. The 1988 Corsica was in its first full year of sale, a front wheel drive compact on the same L platform as the Beretta.
