In 2011 General Motors Brazil introduced a new model bearing the Cobalt name in the Brazilian market, equipped with a 1.4 liter Econo.Flex engine. Although it had a front end style similar to that of the Chevrolet Agile, it was not directly related to it, as it shares the overall underpinnings with the 2011 Chevrolet Sonic, while the Agile was derived from the considerably older Opel Corsa B of 1993.
