1974 Chevrolet Caprice

The 1974 models featured a new formal upright grille, and the turn signals moved from the bumper to be inset of the dual headlights. The other body styles, including the four door pillared and hardtop sedans, the convertible and the Estate Wagon, carried over from 1973 with minor changes. The 454 Turbo Jet lost 10 horsepower to be rated at 235, and integrated lap and shoulder belts and a seat belt interlock system were new, which proved so unpopular that Congress rescinded it soon after.
