A second generation Bolt was announced in December 2023, teased on July 30, 2025 and unveiled on October 9, 2025, based on the previous Bolt EUV and set to go on sale in 2026 as a 2027 model. Several parts are shared with the Equinox EV, including the sensor suite and the X76 permanent magnet motor. Production has been announced as ending in mid 2027 after about eighteen months. Its first model year is 2027.
