Sales of the 2017 Bolt began in California in December 2016, and it was released nationwide and in international markets in 2017. In January 2016 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas the production version was unveiled, with an estimated range of 200 miles or more, and a rebadged European variant was marketed as the Opel Ampera e. Pre production vehicles were tested at the Orion Assembly plant outside Detroit.
