The Century was discontinued at the end of the abbreviated 1942 model year due to World War II, when production of passenger vehicles stopped on February 4, 1942. Centurys produced between 1936 and 1942 were powered by the overhead valve 320 cubic inch straight eight engine producing 141 horsepower, while the Special used a smaller straight eight. This page belongs to the Buick Century model on its Buick make page, and it links to the generation and the neighbouring model years so that the whole run of the model can be followed in order.
