The facelifted G29 Z4 in 2023 was in its first full year with the LCI model introduced in September 2022, a soft top roadster built by Magna Steyr in Graz. It was available as the sDrive20i, sDrive30i and M40i, and the 2023 Z4 was the fifth model year since the soft top returned to the Z Series with the 2019 model year car. The G29 Z4 had been introduced in 2018 and was a car that BMW and Toyota had developed together.
