The F15 reached the end of its life in 2018, when information on the fourth generation G05 X5 was released on 6 June 2018 and the car officially debuted in November, with sales starting that month. The F15 had been manufactured and marketed from 2013, and the X5 M F85 and the xDrive40e plug in hybrid were the highlights of its range. The G05 replaced it, with the F15 production ending in the same year. The new X5 was built at the same plant in South Carolina.
