The F15 X5 continued in 2017 as the third generation of BMW's mid size luxury crossover, in its fifth year, with petrol, diesel and plug in hybrid models and the M50d and X5 M at the top. It was manufactured and marketed worldwide by BMW until 2018, when the G05 replaced it, and was built at Spartanburg for the world market. The next generation was being prepared for its unveiling in June 2018, and the F15 would end in 2018.
