Sales of the long wheelbase X3 L, the G48, exclusive to the Chinese market, commenced in February 2025, the first time in X3 history that a long wheelbase version had been offered. The 2025 X3 G45 used mild hybrid and plug in hybrid powertrains on the CLAR platform, while the iX3 NA5 of 2025 was based on the new Neue Klasse platform instead. The first full model year of the G45 in North America and Europe. It was also the model year in which the Chinese G48 went on sale.
