In 2019 BMW introduced the X3 M and X3 M Competition, the F97, the first X3 M fitted with a 3.0 liter S58 engine, and the X3 xDrive30e plug in hybrid, which shares its powertrain and platform with the 330e. The G01 X3 was therefore the first X3 with a plug in hybrid and an M version, and it was built at Spartanburg and Rosslyn. The X3 xDrive30e shared its powertrain and platform with the 330e. It was a busy year for the G01 range.
