Automobiles

Production of the 2600 ended in 1963, bringing to a close the variations of the 501 and 502 platform and body that had continued after the model numbers were discontinued in 1958. The 501 had been the first BMW built after the Second World War and the first BMW automobile actually built in Bavaria, introduced in 1951 and nicknamed the Baroque Angel.
