2016 was the last year for the ActiveHybrid 5, which had been produced from 2011, and the M550d xDrive diesel, which also ended in 2016. The F10 was being phased out as the G30 was officially announced on 12 October 2016, with series production of the G30 starting in November. The sixth generation 5 Series was now nearing the end of its production life. The F10 production would end in February 2017, after the production of the Gran Turismo ended as well.
