2021 was the first full model year of the G22 4 Series, the second generation of the coupe, along with the G23 convertible and the G26 Gran Coupe. The Gran Coupe was also the basis for the new BMW i4, a battery electric liftback that has been produced since 2021, the first fully electric BMW four door coupe. The M4 G82 was the high performance version. The 430i and the M440i xDrive were among the models in the range, and the car was sold as a 2021 model year car.
