The 330e plug in hybrid went on sale in North America in 2016, with the U.S. EPA rating the 2016 model at 72 miles per gallon equivalent in electric mode, though its all electric range was only 14 miles. A three cylinder engine was used in a 3 Series for the first time in 2016, and the F34 Gran Turismo received a facelift in mid 2016. The three cylinder engine also appeared in the 3 Series for the first time that year.
