The last year of the first generation 1 Series saw the E82 coupe and E88 convertible, which remained in production until 2013, when they were replaced by the F22 and F23 2 Series models. After this the 1 Series hatchback name stood alone as a range of hatchbacks, and the coupes would be marketed separately as the 2 Series from 2014. The 2 Series coupe and convertible, F22 and F23, took over as the replacements for those two body styles.
