The 2002 turbo, the E20, was launched at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show, using the 2002 tii engine with a twin scroll 0.55 bar turbocharger developed together with KK&K. Exterior trim changes in 1973 included revised tail lights, grille and kidney trim. The 2002 Turbo was introduced just before the 1973 oil crisis, so that only 1,672 were built, a car that contradicted the spirit of the times. Exterior trim, grille and kidney trim changed that year.
