In 1971 the 02 Series received a facelift. The three door hatchback Touring body style and the 1802 model were introduced as part of the facelift, and the 2002 tii replaced the 2002 ti, using the fuel injected 130 PS engine from the 2000 tii, with a top speed of 185 km/h. The Baur cabriolet was switched from the 1.6 liter engine to the 2 liter engine to become the 2002 TopCabriolet. The Touring hatchback and the 1802 were new in 1971.
