A variety of Mini types were made in Pamplona, Spain, by the Authi company from 1968 onwards, mostly under the Morris name. In 1968 British Motor Holdings merged with Leyland Motors to form British Leyland, which took over the Mini and the Austin and Morris brands used on it. The Austin Mini of 1968 was a Mark II car. The new owner of the Austin Mini line was a group that was formed from BMH and Leyland Motors.
