Austin Eighteen (Eighteen)

Automobiles

The Eighteen put its engine and front seat nine inches further forward than the York Sixteen it replaced, and its chassis was lengthened three inches, which gave twelve inches more passenger space and a relatively short bonnet. The engine came from the 18 horsepower York model with small improvements, and the gearbox was a four speed of Austin's own design with synchromesh on second, third and top. Its model years run from 1937 to 1938.
