Austin Cambridge (A40 and A50)

Automobiles

The A40 Cambridge and the A50 Cambridge were introduced in September 1954 with identical bodies, the A50 using a new 1.5 liter, 1,489 cc, B-Series four cylinder engine with a single Zenith carburettor good for 50 hp. The A50 sold better and remained in production through to 1957, with 114,867 A50s being produced, while the A40 Cambridge was dropped early in 1957. As with its predecessor, the A40 Somerset, the A50 was built under licence by Nissan in Japan. Its model years run from 1954 to 1957.
