1956 Austin Cambridge

Automobiles

A number of modifications were introduced to the A50 Cambridge in October 1956, including smaller 13 inch wheels and an increased compression ratio of 8.3 to 1. A van derivative of the Cambridge was introduced in November 1956, and a coupe utility pickup followed in May 1957, both remaining available until 1974, some three years after the demise of the cars on which they had been based. The commercial van was a new derivative.
