Austin A40 Somerset (single generation)

Automobiles

The A40 Somerset was a single generation, built by the Austin Motor Company between 1952 and 1954. It was initially offered as only a four door saloon, and a three passenger two door convertible of the same body style was introduced in late 1952. In 1953 the Austin Motor Company produced a special version of around 500 Somerset saloons using the more powerful engine from the sports model, which incorporated twin SU carburettors in place of the single Zenith downdraught type. Its model years run from 1952 to 1954.
