The Citroen 2CV is a French economy car produced from 1948 to 1990, designed before the Second World War to be simple, inexpensive and capable of carrying a farmer's family and produce over rough rural roads. Its air cooled flat twin engine, soft long travel suspension and lightweight construction gave it a low price and durability that made it one of the most recognizable and longest produced small cars in European history.
