Lighter-Than-Air Modes

Flight by craft that rise because they are filled with a gas or heated air that weighs less than the air around them, from the first free flights of balloons to modern hot air and gas balloons and airships. An entry belongs here when the cited article calls the mode ballooning, airship travel or other lighter than air flight. It excludes spaceflight, gliding and other air sports, and flight by aeroplane. Entries are placed by what their own cited article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
