A cable-drawn transport mode in which a rider is suspended from a pulley that runs along a fixed, sloped cable strung between two points, using gravity rather than a powered haul to move from the higher end to the lower one. Zip line transport is used recreationally at adventure parks and tourist attractions, but in some rugged or flood prone regions with no bridge or road, a working zip line, sometimes called a cable bridge, also serves as practical everyday transport for crossing a river or ravine.
