LZ 13 Hansa was a German civilian rigid airship, first flown in 1912 and built to carry passengers and mail for the airline DELAG. It was the sister ship of LZ 11 Viktoria Luise and an enlargement of LZ 10 Schwaben, lengthened by 7.9 metres to take an extra gas bag and fitted with slightly more powerful engines. Its closed passenger cabin had room for 24 people. On 19 September 1912 Count Zeppelin commanded it on the first commercial airship flight to Denmark and Sweden, the first time a commercial Zeppelin flew outside Germany. In two years of DELAG service it carried 6,217 passengers on 399 flights. The navy hired it in 1913, and after the outbreak of the First World War the German military used it for bombing and reconnaissance and then as a training ship until it was dismantled in August 1916.
