Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

The Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company was an American aircraft maker, active from 1909 to 1929, that was originally founded by Glenn Hammond Curtiss and Augustus Moore Herring in Hammondsport, New York. After significant commercial success in its first decades, with aircraft such as the JN-4 Jenny trainer, the NC-4 flying boat and the Model D, it merged with the Wright Aeronautical Corporation to form the Curtiss-Wright Corporation.
