Renault HI

The Renault HI was a French farm tractor of the 1920s. It derived directly from the Renault GP of 1919 but was sturdier, with the radiator placed in the centre behind the engine. Its four-cylinder engine of 95 by 160 millimetres gave 35 horsepower, and the tractor measured 3.50 metres long, 1.90 wide and 2.05 high with a canopy and weighed about 3.6 tonnes. It had three forward speeds of about 1.7, 2.9 and 4.9 kilometres an hour and one reverse, and a front pulley to drive farm machinery such as a threshing machine while standing. 610 were built from 1920 to 1928 and exported as far as the Soviet Union, Australia and New Zealand. The French Army tested it in 1921 and adopted it to tow heavy artillery.
