The Renault D22 is an agricultural tractor built by Renault Agriculture and belonging to the administrative type R 7052. It is the first name of the R 7052 tractors, in a range from 16 to 35 horsepower with the D16, D22, E30, D30 and D35. The D22 was produced from 1 March 1956 to 31 March 1960 in 31,210 examples, which makes it the best-selling Renault tractor, ahead of the 651 at 25,000, and it is still a sought-after model among old tractor fans for its reliability and ease of maintenance. In the naming rule the first letter is the fuel, D for diesel and E for petrol, and the last two digits are the horsepower, so the D22 is a 22 horsepower diesel tractor. Its engine is an air-cooled two-cylinder MWM diesel of 1,810 cubic centimetres, the gearbox has six forward speeds and one reverse, and the speed ranges from 2.6 to 20.9 km/h. It came in normal, narrow and vineyard versions and was later renamed N 72, Super 3 and Super 3D.
