Renault Ares (Traktor)

Work and Industrial Vehicles

The Renault Ares was a tractor series from Renault Agriculture, the former tractor division of Renault. It was built from 1996 to 2003 and, after Claas took over Renault Agriculture, was continued under the name Claas Ares. It formed the range starting at 100 hp and came in four versions, the Ares 800, 700, 600 and 500. The series added a new electronic hitch control system called Tracto Control, a new generation of the Hydrostable cab and on-board electronics designed to make the farmer's work easier. It came out of the renewal of the whole Renault tractor range that began in the early 1990s, alongside the Ceres, at a time when the tractor market was very competitive and not profitable enough in Renault's view, so that Renault finally sold a majority share of the business to Claas in 2003.
