Ford NAA tractor

Work and Industrial Vehicles

The Ford NAA tractor is an agricultural tractor that Ford introduced in 1953 as an entirely new model, sold as the Golden Jubilee under 50th-year badging. It replaced the N-series tractors and was the first tractor Ford built after losing its court battle with Harry Ferguson in 1952 over the patents behind the Ferguson System three-point hitch. Under the hood sat a 134 cubic inch overhead-valve inline four-cylinder gas engine rated at 32 horsepower, known as the Red Tiger. A four-speed transmission was standard, and because the hydraulic pump was driven by the engine rather than the power take-off, the hydraulics worked without the PTO engaged. A live PTO was optional, and a kerosene-burning version called the NAB found few buyers. For 1954 the tractor carried over without the Golden Jubilee badging, and the three-digit 600 and 700 series that followed improved on it.
