The Brough Superior SS100 is a British motorcycle built from 1924 by George Brough in Nottingham, each example hand assembled and individually tested to guarantee a genuine 100 miles per hour before delivery, which gave the model its name. It became known as the Rolls Royce of motorcycles for the quality of its construction and finish, and it was the machine of choice of the soldier and writer T. E. Lawrence, who owned several and was killed in a road accident while riding one in 1935. Only a small number were built each year, and surviving examples are now among the most valuable vintage motorcycles.
