Kamov Ka-27

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Kamov Ka-27 is a Soviet designed naval helicopter built by Kamov from the 1970s, distinguished by its coaxial contra-rotating rotor system that removes the need for a tail rotor. That compact layout suits it to operating from the small decks of Soviet and Russian navy ships, where it has served mainly in anti-submarine warfare and search and rescue roles.
