RMS Aquitania

Passenger and Ocean Liner Vessels

RMS Aquitania was a British ocean liner built for the Cunard Line that entered transatlantic service in 1914, admired for her elegant interiors and nicknamed the Ship Beautiful. She had an unusually long career of roughly thirty-six years, making her the longest-serving major ocean liner of the twentieth century, and she was the only large liner to serve in some capacity, whether as a troop transport, hospital ship or passenger vessel, in both the First and Second World Wars before being retired and scrapped in the early 1950s.
