AEC Regent

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The AEC Regent is a double-decker bus chassis built by the British manufacturer AEC beginning in the 1920s and produced in several generations into the 1960s, supplied as a rolling chassis to bus operators and coachbuilders across Britain and the wider Commonwealth who fitted their own bodywork to it. Widely adopted by London's bus operators and by municipal transport departments throughout the United Kingdom, the Regent became one of the most common double-decker bus chassis of the mid-twentieth century, and its later Regent V version was exported in large numbers to cities such as Hong Kong, where AEC-chassis double-deckers became a familiar part of the urban transport system for decades. The model's long production run and wide adoption made it one of the defining British double-decker designs of the era.
