CRRC Group

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

CRRC Group Corporation, known as CRRC Group, is a Chinese state-owned holding company and the direct parent company of CRRC and 32 other subsidiaries. Counting second-tier subsidiaries it headed 112 legal entities in 2016. Its predecessors, CNR Group and CSR Group, were formed in 2002 by splitting the China National Railway Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Corporation, and control of both passed from the Ministry of Railways to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council that year. In 2015, as part of the reform of the railway industry, CNR Group absorbed CSR Group and was renamed CRRC Group, while their two main listed subsidiaries merged to form CRRC. In 2017 the group was reincorporated from an industrial enterprise owned by the whole people into a state-owned limited company. Its main activity is holding equity, including investments through CSR Investment Management, CRRC Group Capital Holdings and CRRC Industrial Investment.
