TTX Company, founded in 1955 as Trailer Train Company, is a North American railcar pooling cooperative that supplies flatcars, boxcars and gondolas to the continent's freight railroads rather than leaving each railroad to own and reposition its own fleet, pooling more than 168,000 freight cars. The company grew directly out of the piggyback trade it was originally named for, supplying the flatcars that carry a highway trailer for the rail portion of an intermodal move.
