Royal Enfield

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Royal Enfield is a motorcycle maker that began in Redditch, England, in 1893 as a bicycle and weapons maker, and so is one of the oldest makers still in business. Its single-cylinder Bullet, introduced in 1931, was built in Britain and from 1955 in India under licence, where production continued after the British company closed in 1970. Today the marque belongs to Eicher Motors of India. The brand is closely associated with simple, durable single-cylinder motorcycles that were used for decades by police forces, armies and ordinary riders in India and elsewhere.
