Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Peterbilt is an American maker of heavy trucks, founded in 1939 in Oakland, California, when T. A. Peterman bought the assets of the Fageol truck company. Its long-hood conventional tractors, in particular the Model 379 built from 1987 to 2007, became favourites of owner-operators in North America. Peterbilt has been a subsidiary of Paccar since 1958. Its trucks are built in Denton, Texas, and in other plants, and are sold mainly through a network of independent dealers across North America.
