Bristol Commercial Vehicles

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Bristol Commercial Vehicles was a vehicle manufacturer located in Bristol, England. Most of its production was buses, though it also built trucks and railbus chassis. The Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company began building buses for its own use in 1908 and soon supplied other operators, and in 1955 this part of the business was separated out as Bristol Commercial Vehicles Limited. Its Lodekka double-decker and VR are well-known models, and the company closed in 1983 when production moved to its parent, Leyland.
