Studebaker

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Studebaker was an American vehicle maker from South Bend, Indiana, that began in 1852 as a wagon builder and moved to automobiles at the start of the twentieth century. It built cars with steam, electric and petrol power, trucks such as the US6 supplied to the Soviet Union in the Second World War, and the fibreglass-bodied Avanti of 1962. It stopped making cars in 1966 after a long decline. The company outlasted most early rivals by adapting from horse-drawn carriages to motor vehicles, and it ended car production in the mid-1960s.
