Lotus

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Lotus Cars is a British sports car maker founded in 1952 by the engineer Colin Chapman, whose philosophy was to add lightness. It built racing cars that won many Formula One titles and light road cars such as the Seven, the Elan of 1962 and the Esprit. Lotus has its works at Hethel in Norfolk and has been owned by Geely since 2017. The company is also well known for its engineering consultancy and has produced road cars that put emphasis on handling and light weight rather than outright power.
